Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): I would buy this product again and recommend to others to fulfil their bicycle basket needs.

Background: I like using baskets on my bicycle to shop for groceries or to carry other bags that don’t happen to be bicycle bags. As a famous youtuber once said, “Every bag is a bike bag if you can fit it into your bicycle basket." What makes the Tern Kontti basket special is it’s ortlieb compliant fastening device that makes it super convenient to load on or off any bicycle that can take panniers. The included eight and 11 mm inserts mean that the basket can be sized for most bicycle racks on the market.

Pros: (1) Ortlieb hooks.
(2) Plastic mesh construction so that one does not need to worry about food stuffs or liquids leaking. A real concern if one uses pricey bicycle bags for grocery shopping.
(3) Reflective tape on the carrying handle. A nice safety touch that most manufacturers would not think to include.

Cons: (1) Weight limit is a bit below that of other bicycle baskets that I have used.
(2) Capacity is a bit small compared to similar products from Electra and Sunlite.

Conclusion: The pros outweigh the cons in my mind if your looking for a nice bicycle basket that can be used for shopping. Electra and Sunlite make metal bicycle baskets that are similar, but the superb fastening system makes this product a bit better buy despite slightly smaller weight and volume capacities.

I took a chance on these baskets and I’m so glad I did! Not only are they incredibly sturdy, but they are so easy to pop on and off. I easily remove them for grocery shopping and use them as my baskets in the store. And they can hold a ton of things! In my opinion, these are the best bike baskets on the market.
