Thule EasyFold XT 2

The Thule EasyFold XT 2 was ready to use ride out of the box. No assembly required. You can secure the EasyFold to the hitch and lock it from up above. No need to crawl underneath to insert a hitch pin and lock. The tilt function is very convenient. The "claws" gripped the frames of the Cube step-through and the Faraday step-through very securely. It also worked with two Homage step-throughs with the use of frame adapters.

I chose the Easyfold XT2, based on two main criteria:
1. Ability to use with both 1.25 and 2" receivers (out of the box). I had to have a 1.25" hitch installed on my current car, but plan to go to a 2" hitch when I get a new car. It will be nice to be able to use the same rack.
2. Relatively compact folding/storage. When folded, the XT2 is really quite compact and even includes wheels (albeit, it is easier to lift/carry then to try to wheel it around). It stows away nicely when off the car in garage.
We purchased 2 Specialized Vado 4.0 bikes, and each weighs ~55 lbs. So, I had to switch from my roof mount Thule to a hitch rack. After looking at several brands/models/reviews, I settled on the Easyfold XT2. All the best platform hitch racks are expensive, but this model is near the top at $900.
Overall, I'm happy, but the attachment bars (1 short/1 long) are less than easy to use, and if you are not careful, can easily scratch 1/both bikes. On the way home from the dealer, my brand new Vado had the paint rubbed off where the attachment bar was hitting the downtube...Now I check very closely after placing both bikes on the rack.
Finally, I am quite happy with my purchase from Oregon-eBikes. They shipped it quickly, it was competitively priced, and of course, I did not have to pay sales tax (California).
