Blix Bicycles Aveny High Step Electric Bike
Power and Control
Ride further with less effort with the stylish the Blix Aveny electric bike. Powered by a 350 watt geared hub motor and Panasonic battery, you can power this electric bicycle for up to 60 miles per charge at speeds up to 20 mph.
Style and Function
Stylish yet practical, the Aveny features a swivel front rack with a cup holder and bamboo base, along with a durable rear rack. It also includes a comfortable faux-leather seat and ergonomic grips.
Strength and Durability
The Aveny electric bike features a classical European design, with either a low-step or high-step aluminum alloy frame. It also includes front and rear disc brakes, seven speed Shimano gear system and rear and front LED lights.
The Pedal Assist System
Blix Electric Bikes are powered by the Spin Tech™ system, a fully automated, electric pedal assist system with four levels of power. You can control the amount of exercise you get by based on the selected level, or turn it off completely. Either way, the hand throttle control is always available to power your ride.
Change power level, control the LED lights, check your battery life, read speed and distance traveled with the trip meter, and many more features directly from the display, conveniently placed on the handlebar.
The Aveny features a high performance Panasonic lithium-ion battery, which provides power up to 40 or 60 miles depending on battery choice. The battery is strategically placed under the seat for a low center of gravity and locked to the frame with a key. To charge the battery, simple plug it into a standard wall outlet, either off or on the bike. A full charge takes only three hours, but a partial charge will work as well.
Checks all the boxes at a super reasonable price point. It's loaded! Fenders, basket (took mine off), rear rack, lights, back-lit display, 4 levels of throttle or assist, disk breaks, nice leather seat, removable battery, good distance per charge, etc...
I've had my bike for a year now and am very happy with it. Aesthetically, the bike has clean and classic lines which is what initially drew me to look at the Aveny. The battery location is probably in the best possible spot and popping the seat up to pull it out to bring it inside or to charge is super convenient. When riding, it does a great job of keeping the 'E' portion of it's genre subtly in the background. That isn't to say it's a slouch in providing the juice needed to flatten and crush a big hill or rip at 20 mph in traffic, the thing flies like a breeze when asked.
I won't speak to miles per charge, as that depends on way too many variables. This is something it took me a few to really understand. Since it doesn't use a constant and consistent amount of power like a light would, battery/ride length will depend on many factors such as assist level, human assist, incline, total weight, tire pressure, speed, etc. Kind of like a modern cell phone, the battery life depends on how you use it and that can change per ride.
If you're looking to just get in to an e-bike for commuting around town or a mellow back and forth to work, this is your jam. Enjoy.
The Blix Aveny was our bike of choice for our rental fleet this year, and they were a crowd pleaser! The geometry is comfortable, which can be rare for a one-size-fits-all bike. The basket is ultra convenient and adds style points. The range is surprisingly robust at up to 40 miles per charge, and our rental customers always came back wanting more. The Aveny is great choice for cruisers and commuters alike, and packs a ton of value into a very affordable price.
We LOVE our Blix e-bike! The staff at Oregon E-bikes are so friendly and helpful. They let us demo multiple bikes to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. Love this shop, its staff, and their sister company, Big Winds.
